About the Teacher Training/Lifestyle Course
The path of yoga is to know one’s self. It provides the means to systematically explore, observe, enquire and inwardly experience the many facets of our being, physically, physiologically, psychologically and spiritually. The intention of this course is to establish the essential principles of practice in the Iyengar Yoga Method. These principles form the foundation for the ‘practice of yoga’. Invaluable experience is gained through the understanding of how to practice systematically and progressively. It is practice that will provide substance and integrity to imparting experience as a teacher. It is through the practice that the body and mind become sensitive and subtle, enhancing our perception and making it possible to experience our spiritual nature. This course will be intense, challenging and extremely rewarding on all levels, physically, mentally and emotionally. It will provide aspiring teachers the tools, skills an understanding necessary to be sincere practitioner’s and offer current teachers the opportunity to progress and refine their current ability and understanding.

About Iyengar Yoga
- Iyengar Yoga is an intelligent, systematic approach to the practice of yoga that requires the practitioner to deliberately replace unconscious habitual responses with deliberately implemented conscious ones.
Some features unique to Iyengar yoga include-
- Alignment of the body – taught with technical precision and insightful understanding.
- Equipment – Known as Yoga Props, used to facilitate the poses (asana). Props allow the practitioner to experience the benefits of an asana even if they cannot do it independently.
- The sequencing of the asana’s is taught in an order to be effective and safe whilst providing the best possible environment for teaching.
Thanks to Iyengar yoga alignment has been acknowledged as an essential ingredient to the process of practicing yoga world wide!
